SwitchingHow it works
Nobody should notice the day you change phone systems.
Your main number is your business. That is why the switch is the part we spend the most time on, and why we give you a go-live date that a slow port cannot move.

§What you are afraid of
The fear is reasonable. Say it out loud.
You have a number on the van, on the sign, in the directory, on ten thousand business cards, and in the phone of every customer who has called you twice. If that number goes dark for a morning, the savings do not matter.
Most vendors answer this with a promise about how fast they port. That is the wrong answer, because the vendor does not control the port date. The losing carrier does.
So we answer it a different way. Your new system starts taking your calls on a date we set with you, before the port, and your old system keeps working until your numbers have actually landed.
§The sequence
What we do, in order.
| Stage | Build | Configure | Test | Go-live | Port completes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Your old system | Live | Live | Live | Forwards calls to the new system | Switched off |
| Your new system | Being built | Being set up | Tested by us, then by you | Answering every call | Answering every call |
| Your numbers | On the old system | On the old system | On the old system | Still on the old system | On the new system |
The call. Twenty to thirty minutes.
How many people, how many phones, how many sites. What you run today. Which numbers you have to keep. Desk phones, apps, or both. Queues, after hours, 911. We size it from your people and your phones and give you the monthly rate and the license line on that call.
We build it while you keep working.
We stand up your system at the size you licensed, match your SIP capacity, and start the port. Your existing phones keep ringing the entire time. Nothing about your current setup changes yet.
We configure it to match how you actually answer the phone.
Your hours. Your menu. Your queues and who is in them. Voicemail to email. After hours routing. 911 location data for every site, so an emergency call goes out with a dispatchable address and the right people are notified.
Phones and apps.
Bring supported handsets and we provision them. Buy new through us and they arrive configured. The mobile app is your office phone when you are not at the desk.
Testing, by us and then by you.
We test every menu, queue, route and phone first. Then you test it, call queues included, and check it against how your business actually answers the phone. Go-live is not scheduled until you have signed off.
Go-live, then the port.
On go-live day we give your new system temporary numbers and your old system forwards your calls to it, so your callers reach the new system from that moment. When the port completes, your numbers move across and the forwarding comes off. Your main number never goes dark.
Training, on your system.
Not a generic video. Your menu, your queues, your voicemail, your people. Admin training for whoever will manage it, and a short session for everybody else.

§What it costs you
The standard install is free. Your time is the real cost.
We do not charge for a standard remote install. Everything in the sequence above is included in your monthly rate.
What we need from you: an hour or two of somebody who knows how the phones are supposed to work, accurate addresses for 911 records, and a decision about which numbers you are keeping. Custom work outside the standard path is $125 an hour and we quote it before we do it.
See the full price list§Your go-live date
We set your go-live date. Your carrier only sets the paperwork.
On go-live day your new system takes the calls. We give it temporary numbers, and your old system forwards your calls to it. When the port finishes, whenever your old carrier gets to it, your numbers move across and the forwarding comes off.
Port timelines are set by the carrier you are leaving, and nobody can promise the day a port completes. We do not need to. A delayed or rejected port does not move your go-live, because your callers are already reaching the new system. Your go-live date is ours to set, and we keep it.

§If something goes wrong
You call, and you get somebody who knows your system.
Not a queue. Not a stranger reading your account back to you. Named people who have seen your setup, with 24 hour coverage for emergencies.
